CIVIL ENGINEER
Pinnacle Consulting Engineers is a leading provider of construction consulting services with expertise in Structural and Civil Engineering. Our services encompass Structural Engineering, Building Information Modelling, Civil Engineering, and Infrastructure Design across various sectors such as Residential, Retail, Distribution, and Technology. Based in Norwich, we specialise in Engineering Master Planning, Due Diligence, Flood Management, Pre-Development Engineering, Drainage Design, Transportation Planning, and Highways Design.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating Civil engineering designs, based on their calculations using software or from first principles and any research conducted. They should have experience with AutoCAD and be able to utilise strong design skills in order to create visual aids. By utilising strong organisational and communication skills, you will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.
Summary of the position
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, design, and construction, working closely with an international team. Your expert knowledge and technical know-how will be encouraged, while creativity is also valued to come up with innovative solutions.
This is a full-time office-based role for a Civil Engineer in our Norwich office.
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Ideally 3 to 6 years of experience in a Civil Infrastructure design consultancy
- Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer
- Sound knowledge of engineering principles, technical drawings, and planning data
- Experience with Autodesk Civil3D, Vehicle Tracking, MicroDrainage or relevant Drainage Design software and AutoCAD
- Ability to work within and able to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams
- Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges
- Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
- Confident, articulate, collaborative and proactive
- Eager to learn and develop their skills and career with training support
- Ability to work on Civil projects from the preliminary to completion stages
- Demonstrable experience in the design of highway and civil infrastructure projects
- Confident and concise communicator
- Strong organisational, analytical, communication skills, design skills and report-writing skills
- Sound knowledge of all building materials and the safe application of current construction methods and design standards
- Experience in Flood Risk Assessment and Drainage Strategy Reports
- Experience or knowledge of Due Diligence work is desirable
- Knowledge of European national annexes of Eurocodes is an advantage
- Knowledge of the HOAI performance phases and work stages according to RIBA is an advantage
- Experience in preparing hydraulic calculations
- Communication and integration strength within the interdisciplinary planning teams
- Independent, creative, project and goal-oriented way of working
- High level of commercial awareness
- Deliver design packages and engineer technical aspects for small to medium-sized projects
- Able to utilise expertise to devise innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely project delivery and target achievement
- Willingness to travel on business, including in other European countries
