This formerly undeveloped site is situated adjacent to the Grand Union Canal.
The project comprised the construction of 10 steel frame industrial units. Due to a 14m level difference across the site, proposed levels were carefully considered to establish a balance of cut and fill during development. Milbury pre-cast wall units were utilised to provide a fast economic form of construction allowing significant level changes to be accommodated across some of the units.
Approval from British Waterways was negotiated to allow discharge attenuated surface water runoff into the Grand Union Canal via a new headwall. Access was provided via an existing private length of Northbridge Road which was upgraded to facilitate adoption by Hertfordshire County Council.
