Pinnacle exhibited at Footprint+ in Brighton at the start of June. Footprint+ gathers every sector of the UK property market to discover and discuss state-of-the-art methods to achieve Net Zero in real estate.
Stakeholders and experts met face-to-face, learning from each other at the CPD-certified conference, forming the relationships required for putting sustainable solutions into practice. This year’s agenda looked closely at the use of timber, retro-fitting, the circular economy, zero carbon energy, and financing the carbon revolution.
Pinnacle was represented at the event by Associate Engineers, Andres Gajjar and Dimi Elliniadis, and Director, Ed Coupe, promoting our expertise and our Net Zero from Stage Zero sustainability product offering – advising clients on achieving carbon net zero on projects from the first RIBA plan of works stage onwards.
Our Sustainability Task Force group has made great strides forward in delivering our Net Zero engineering ambitions – exploring issues such as embodied carbon, materials re-use, embodied carbon, and development lifecycles.
Pinnacle’s sustainability lead, Dimitris Ellianidis, chaired a keynote session on the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standards alongside Sarah Ratcliffe, CEO of the Better Buildings Partnership, Will Arnold, Head of Climate Action at IStructE, and Matthew Collins, Senior Specialist, Constructing and Infrastructure Management at RICS.
The Standards aim to define what ‘net zero’ means for buildings in the UK, creating a single, agreed methodology. The UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard will enable industry to robustly prove their built assets are net zero carbon and in line with our nation’s climate targets.
